Welcome Wayfarers! Time marches ever onward, and we’re excited to release Episode 2 of Arcavios: School’s Out Forever into the wild to you! We’re working on having sample upgrade packs for each deck from Commander 2021 for you, so you can test the Episode. Otherwise, you can use our new No-Draft guide to get right into the action! We’ve done some retooling of more mechanics, more refining, and more fun! From all of us on The Wayfarer Guild team, we want to thank everyone for their support thus far!

ARCAVIOS: SCHOOL’S OUT FOREVER — EPISODE 2: WELCOME TO STRIXHAVEN

New

• Added Episode 2 cards. All new four Scenes of Tier 2 content!
• Added Scene Flavor text to all Scenes, for more flavor in each scene!
• Added Lore entries for each Scene in the documents, so you can get more context on what’s happening every scene.
• Added Tier 2 Spark Emblems. Use these in Tier 2 after you upgrade (remember, 90 card deck, through drafting is the preferred way, though if you want to use our No-Draft Guide, be our guest)!
• Introduced our first full-fledged NPC, Amartha Naydarin. Part of the Dragonsguard, Amartha is interested in repairing the relationships between the Dragonsguard and the deans of Strixhaven.
• Introduced new rules changes, and a complete replacement of Essence Counters for Essence Lands. They work similarly, except that Essence Lands tap and don’t untap during your next untap step when you infuse. Also, infusing is separate from actually producing mana, so make sure to remember that! There is no more cap on infusing and how many Essence Lands you get. See full rules update for changes! Our goal for this fundamental change was to unlock land affecting spells, as well as Exotic Orchard.

ARCAVIOS: SCHOOL’S OUT FOREVER — EPISODE 1: GUIDED TOUR

Changes

• Changed Anima Spellbomb’s text. Now gives +2/+2 to all artifact creatures and trample when sacrificed, so it works differently.
• Changed Smokeblind Confusion to avoid trading legendaries so it wouldn’t be difficult to utilize cards in certain Scenes.
